In short
You can try an edit without worrying about it. The toolbar has undo and redo buttons, and they work on the latest change to the carousel.

What undo takes back
- A whole edit round: the headline, the colour and everything else that one press of Apply changed.
- A hand edit: a retyped word, a moved or resized element, a removed element.
- A deleted slide, which comes back with its content.
- A new look for the whole carousel, which goes back to the previous colours and fonts.
Redo puts the change back. Both buttons are greyed out when there is nothing to undo or redo. Undo does not give the edit round back: the round was spent when the designer did the work.

What undo does not cover
Undo steps back over the most recent change. A longer history, where you jump back several changes or undo one change from the middle, is not part of the product yet. If you want to keep a version, export it before a big round of edits.
Questions
How far back can I undo?
The latest change. After you undo it, redo can bring it back. A full history of changes is not built yet.
Does undo return my edit round?
No. The round counts as used once the designer has made the changes. A hand edit never used one.
Can I undo while the designer is working?
Not during an Apply, an undo or a redo: those have to finish first. Then undo works on the result.
